Originally designed in Japan, Singapore and South Korea, these round contact lenses were created to replicate the look of wide eyed Japanese anime characters. The contact lenses are about the same size as normal ones, but the whole lens is the colour of the eye’s iris. This covers a lot to the whites within the eye, making the eyes appear larger. This is further accentuated with false eyelashes and makeup.
These round lenses have been popular in Asia for years, however recently a lot more are being sent to western countries. It is rumoured this trend is linked to Lady Gaga’s recent music video for the song ‘Bad Romance’ where she is pictured with extraordinarily large, round eyes. Little do fans realise that much of this effect was most likely computer generated, rather than simply due to round contact lenses.
But what do you think? Would you follow this bizarre fashion?

I can still picture it now. Gwen Stefani running around an Alice in wonderland-inspired maze, wearing these unbelievably high shoes! To this day I’m not sure how she didn’t fall then, let alone when jumping on the mad hatters table! But these shoes were not just limited to the music video. Gwen danced around stage and wore these on the red carpet – now that’s confidence!
These bizarre and risky platform sandals are Christian Dior by John Galliano. They feature satin ribbons that hold the lower leg, almost like a corset. Almost certainly a requirement to ease the risk of snapping an ankle or two!
Gwen Stefani has always had her own unique style of punk rocker cross pin-up girl and these unconventional shoes are taking this style to the next level.
So, what are you waiting for?

The style icon has had a change, linking her infamous vintage look with latex using pastel colours and fun prints. And Katy Perry says it’s "the most comfortable thing I ever wear". This does seem doubtful however if you think about the lack of breathing latex would allow.
But Katy is dedicated to her latex! Using various patterns like gummy bears, cookies, cupcakes, ice cream cones, the American flag, sheet music even pink palm trees to create a different look. There seems to be no limit to this bizarre fashion! At first, the dresses all seemed to be based on a similar style and pattern, but as Katy continues with this fad, her design team are getting more creative.
This bizarre fashion seems to be staying in Katy Perry’s wardrobe!
